Hello Finland Middle School Families,

I would like to invite you all to our Schedule Pick-up/Orientation event on Tuesday, August 12th.

7th grade students will receive an orientation from 2:00-4:00 pm while 8th grade students will be able to pick up schedules and walk the building from 5:30-7:30 pm.   

Orientation will start at 2:00 pm for our 7th grade students only.  Any 7th grade student who rides a bus will have the opportunity to take a bus to Orientation.  A message is being mailed out on July 25th to the families of the students who can take a bus which lists the time and location of the pick up on the 12th.  If you do not ride a bus because you are close enough to walk, or if you want to take a car to the school that day, please arrive at 1:55 pm to start the orientation.  Buses will only be dropping off students for the start of the event.  Families will need to arrange for the pick up of their students.

If your 7th grade student lives outside the normal Finland Middle School boundary, but uses special education busing to attend FMS programming, please call 614-801-3600 to let the office know that you will need bus transportation that day.

The orientation for 7th grade students will run from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  This part of the day is for STUDENTS ONLY.  During the orientation, 7th grade students will pick up their schedules, hear about how Finland Middle School works, and see some of the opportunities available for this school year.  They will also get to walk their schedule and see all of their classrooms and their locker.

Parents/caregivers can pick up students at 4:00pm.  Please use the front of the building if your student’s last name starts with letter A-M, and use the back of the building if the last name starts with letters N-Z.  Again, there will NOT be busing to take students home that day, so all students will need to walk home or get picked up by car.

From 5:30 - 7:30 pm, 8th grade students and families will be able to pick up schedules.  Additionally they may walk the building and get information about the school year.

Hola familias de la Escuela Intermedia Finland:

Los invito a nuestra Orientación/Recogida de Horarios el martes 12 de agosto.

Los estudiantes de 7.º grado recibirán una orientación de 14:00 a 16:00 h, mientras que los de 8.º grado podrán recoger sus horarios y recorrer el edificio de 17:30 a 19:30 h.

La orientación comenzará a las 14:00 h, solo para estudiantes de 7.º grado. Cualquier estudiante de 7.º grado que viaje en autobús podrá asistir a la orientación. El 25 de julio se enviará un mensaje a las familias de los estudiantes que puedan viajar en autobús, con la hora y el lugar de recogida el día 12. Si no viajan en autobús porque están lo suficientemente cerca como para ir caminando, o si prefieren ir en coche ese día, por favor lleguen a la 13:55 h para comenzar la orientación. Los autobuses solo dejarán a los estudiantes al inicio del evento. Las familias deberán coordinar la recogida de sus estudiantes.

Si su estudiante de 7.º grado vive fuera del perímetro escolar habitual de la Escuela Intermedia Finland, pero utiliza el transporte de educación especial para asistir a los programas de FMS, llame al 614-801-3600 para informar a la oficina que necesitará transporte en autobús ese día.

La orientación para estudiantes de 7.º grado se realizará de 14:00 a 16:00 h. Esta parte del día es SOLO PARA ESTUDIANTES. Durante la orientación, los estudiantes de 7.º grado recogerán sus horarios, aprenderán sobre el funcionamiento de la Escuela Intermedia Finland y verán algunas de las oportunidades disponibles para este año escolar. Los padres/tutores pueden recoger a los estudiantes a las 16:00 h. Por favor, utilicen la parte delantera del edificio si el apellido de su estudiante empieza con las letras A-M, y la parte trasera si el apellido empieza con las letras N-Z. No habrá servicio de autobús para llevar a los estudiantes a casa ese día, por lo que todos los estudiantes deberán caminar o ser recogidos en coche.

De 17:30 a 19:30 h, los estudiantes de 8.º grado y sus familias podrán recoger sus horarios. Además, podrán recorrer el edificio y obtener información sobre el año escolar.
